Axe Racing Ends Season 38th in the World
With the completion of the final race of the team’s debut season in Innsbruck, Axe Racing now ranks 38th in the world for 2-man. Judged on the eight highest finishes the team makes, the IBSF rankings are published every year giving an overall list of how all athletes did for the season. 38th in the debut season was enough to make the Axe Racing team 2nd in Great Britain for the 2-man discipline.
Igls Europe Cup
The final race of the 2019/2020 season for Axe Racing was also the final Europe Cup race of the year. Pilot Axel Brown was joined by Ryan Letts, making his debut with this squad. Unfortunately, thanks in part to a mix up by the race officials, the pair were unable to achieve a second run (top 20 after the first run) however, finished a respectable 29th in a field of 43 sleds, filled with over 10 world cup competitors. There are positives to be taken from the race despite the disappointing end result. Primarily is that within just six total runs on a brand-new track Axel was able to compete, and indeed beat, other drivers with vastly more experience in the sport and on this track. What’s more, despite starting in just 34th place the pair were able to finish in 29th, gaining 5 places through competitive driving and high top speed. With the competitive season now over for Axe Racing the team will look to continue growing with training runs wherever possible, and learn as many new tracks as possible before the ice melts and the season is inevitably brought to an end!
